Welcome. I am delighted to welcome you, and I offer a warm and heartfelt welcome to our official website, the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM).

I feel privileged to serve and be a part of a community that is nothing short of exceptional. Here, we bring together brilliant minds and passionate educators. We bring together committed clinicians and inquisitive learners. And we bring them all together for one purpose: to shape the future of healthcare in Lagos, in Nigeria, and beyond our borders.

The story of LASUCOM has been nothing short of inspirational. We started off modestly with just one MBBS programme. But we have since grown steadily and confidently into a vibrant, multi-programme, multi-faculty institution. This is not just a story of our ambitions and dreams; it is a story of our strength, ingenuity, and dedication of everyone who has walked through our doors. Today, we are home to six faculties, 9 programmes and over thirty departments, creating a rich and diverse home for health education. From medicine, dentistry, physiology, pharmacology, nursing, physiotherapy, radiography and radiation science, nursing, and medical laboratory science to pharmacy, we are training a complete, modern health workforce ready to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.

This growth isn’t just about adding programmes; it’s about a vision. We believe the best healthcare comes from teams of professionals who are not only highly skilled but also compassionate and ethically grounded. That is the kind of leader we strive to build here. With our bright and passionate students, our greatest joy is watching them grow into the empathetic, practice-ready professionals the world needs.

Our people are the pride of LASU and the nerve centre of LASUCOM. Our faculty are more than just teachers and brilliant clinicians; they are active researchers whose work shapes health policy and practice far beyond our lecture halls. Most importantly, they are mentors who invest heavily in our students so that their education in LASUCOM is not only world-class but also personal.
Our location is a significant aspect of our history. We are housed in the same facility as the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in Ikeja. From day one, they are immersed in the realities of clinical practice, guided by leading experts in one of Nigeria’s premier teaching hospitals. It is learning in its most authentic, powerful form.

We are a community that looks resolutely ahead. We are constantly strengthening our research culture, building meaningful new partnerships, and upgrading our facilities to give our students the best possible environment to learn, grow, and innovate.
