THE INSTITUTION
The Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), an integral part of Lagos State
University, was established on the 9th of February 1999 with the institutional goal of
producing medical doctors and other health professionals
THE VACANT NON-ACADEMIC AND TECHNICAL POSITIONS ARE LISTED BELOW:
A. PROCUREMENT UNIT
1. PURCHASING OFFICER II (CONUNASS 07)
Key Responsibilities
In charge of implementing the University’s Inventory Control policy as contained in the
financial manual
· Ensure that all goods bought by the University are well documented, and payment
authorized, and prepared for the Bursar’s signature
· Taking charge of the stationery store and accounting, receiving, and issuing of stock.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Must have a good honours Degree from a recognized institution in a business-related field,
registrable with the Institution of Purchasing & Supply
· Must have an NYSC discharge certificate
B. REGISTRY
1. ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER II (CONUNASS 07)
Key Responsibilities:
· Attending meetings and sharing in taking notes on the proceedings of the meeting.
· Serving as Secretaries to Ad-Hoc Committee or minor Committee
· Providing support in preparing papers for meetings
· Assist in the Servicing of meetings
· Keeping of records and offering general administrative support
· Treating of mails as directed
· In attendance at the interview session and drafting of interview reports.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Must have a good honours degree from a recognized institution
· Must have NYSC discharge Certificate.
2. ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CONUNASS 05)
Key Responsibilities:
· Drafting/Writing of Memorandum
· Receiving incoming mails
· Dispatching of mails
· Photocopying and Collation of Documents
· Updating and filing of Documents/mails
· Distributes vital documents
· Office Management
Qualification & Experience:
· Candidates must have SSCE/GCE including English Language and ND/NCE or its equivalent
3. CONFIDENTIAL SECRETARY II (CONUNASS 06)
Key Responsibilities:
· Receiving dictation and typing of the same.
· Typing of documents/ filing of documents
· Attending to visitors
· Collection and recording of data
· Gathering of information and relaying the same through the telephone.
· Writing of minutes of the meeting
· Keeping of diary /KIV and bringing up files.
Qualifications & Experience:
· A National Diploma in Secretarial Studies / Office Technology/Office Management from a
recognized institution not below credit level.
· Three (3) years of relevant experience.
· Candidate must show proficiency in shorthand and Computer Operations.
4. CLERICAL OFFICER (CONUNASS 03)
Key Responsibilities:
· Receiving incoming and dispatching of mails/ official correspondence
· Filing of correspondence/documents into appropriate folders.
· Follow up on memos on request for funds and other University assignment office.
· Citing and updating of archive/records mails
· General Clerical works- photocopying and collation of documents.
· Any other duty assigned by the superior officer.
Qualifications & Experience:
· SSCE/NECO/GCE with 5 credits, including English Language
C. SECURITY
SENIOR PATROLMAN (CONUNASS 03)
Key Responsibilities:
· Keeping records of movement of persons and vehicles under supervision.
· Searching Vehicles and suspected visitors or employees under supervision
· General Security duties to principal Officers and the University
· Documentation of events /security situations at the allocated beats in absence supervisor.
· Other duties assigned by the Head of Department
· Any other duties assigned by the superior Officer.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Candidate must have a JSS III/S.75/ Class IV Certificate including English Language
· Eight (8) years relevant experience
· WASC/GCE/SSCE plus two (2) years experience in similar position OR Ex-Police Sergeant.

Key Responsibilities:
· Maintain simple laboratory equipment.
· Set practical classes and assist instructors.
· Supervise Laboratory Assistants and Attendants.
· Conduct Laboratory researches collaboratively with lecturers in the Department.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Candidate must have a good honours degree/ Final Diploma in Laboratory Technology
/HND/IMLT in relevant field registrable with the relevant Institute (NIST, IMLT, etc).
· Must have NYSC Discharge Certificate.
2. RADIOGRAPHER/MEDICAL IMAGING SCIENTIST II – DENTISTRY (CONUNASS 07):
Key Responsibilities:
· Carrying out radiographic examination such as intravenous urogram up and
cholecystography the gastro-intestinal tract, blood vessels, neuro investigations.
· Participating in special radiological procedures
Qualification & Experience:
· Candidate must have a Second-Class honours degree in Radiography from a recognised
institution or equivalent qualification
· Must have NYSC discharge Certificate.
3. CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR – NURSING (CONUNASS 07)
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in practical demonstrations for Nursing Students in the skills laboratory
· Maintain the skills laboratory equipment
· Assist with ward/bedside training of the Nursing students psychotherapy care to patients,
clients and relatives.
· Supervising the activities of the students.
Qualification & Experience:
· Candidate must have a good honours degree in Nursing from a recognized Institution.
Must also have a year’s post-qualification experience OR
· Be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife by the Nursing and Midwife Council of
Nigeria (NMCN) with one year relevant post-qualification experience.
4. LABORATORY ASSISTANT I (CONUNASS 03)
Key Responsibilities:
· Assisting the Senior Technologist in conducting practical classes
· Issuance of Chemicals and other consumables to students
· Supervision of students during practical classes
· Any other duties assigned by a superior officer.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Must have SSCE/WASC/GCE with two (2) credits in science subjects
E. BMCC AND INFORMATION UNIT
1. TRAINEE MEDIA TECHNOLOGIST (CONUNASS 07)
Key Responsibilities:
· Carry out linear and non-linear editing of recorded material (i.e. video and audio signals
from various sources).
· Uses some editing packages/software e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro., Sound Track Pro., DVD
studio Pro., EDIUS, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe after effect, Adobe illustrators, and macromedia
f
lash would be an advantage.
· Handles video streaming to the web and motion graphic designs to facilitate teaching and
presentation at seminars.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Candidate must have a good honours University Degree from a recognised institution, not
below second-class division in Educational Technology or Computer Science and NYSC
Discharge Certificate.
· Basic Computer skills in digital and analogue editing will be an advantage
F. INFORMATION COMMUNICATIONS UNIT
1. SYSTEMS PROGRAMMER II (CONUNASS 07)
Key Responsibilities:
· Design and develop software Programmes under supervision.
· Hard Disk/Drives formatting.
· Other duties assigned
Qualifications & Experience:
· Must have a good honours degree in Computer Science/ Computer Engineering or related
discipline from a recognised institution OR equivalent professional qualification.
G. LEGAL UNIT
1. ASSISTANT REGISTRAR (LEGAL); CONUNASS 09
Key Responsibilities:
· Representing the University in matters of litigation in Court
· Preparing legal opinions in matters affecting staff and students
· Attending Committee meetings as required by the DR, Legal and other administrative
duties
· Providing documentation for filing of Court processes
· Any other duties assigned by the DR, Legal
Qualifications & Experience:
· Must have a good LLB honours degree from a recognised institution and is legally qualified
to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor in Nigeria
· NYSC Discharge Certificate
· 6 Years cognate post call experience
2. ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER I (LEGAL) CONUNASS 08
Key Responsibilities
· Undergoing a 1-year pupillage programme and performing the following duties under
supervision:
· Preparation of legal documents and files for consideration at committee meetings
· Preparing minutes of meetings for Committees serviced by the Legal Unit
· Drafting and preparing legal document
· Handling administrative duties
· Other duties assigned
Qualifications & Experience
· Must have a good LLB honours degree from a recognised institution and is legally qualified
to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor in Nigeria
· NYSC Discharge Certificate
· 2 Years cognate post call experience
H. MEDICAL LIBRARY
1. LIBRARY OFFICER (CONUNASS 06)
Key Responsibilities:
· Responsible for all functions of the circulation desk such as recall of overdue books, check in
and check out of books and journals.
· In charge of reserved books and other reserved items.
· Lend books to users and enter the loan records in the circulation books.
· Identify books that needs repairs and binding and keep records of such materials.
· Shelf reading, monitoring and stock maintenance/
Qualifications & Experience:
· Candidate must have a National Diploma not lower than Credit in Library Studies with
evidence of Computer literacy.
· Must have three (3) years relevant post-qualification experience.
2. LIBRARY ASSISTANT I (CONUNASS 03)
Key Responsibilities:
· Stamping new books.
· Listing of books to be taken to catalogue and classification section.
· Compilation of bibliographies.
· Charging and discharging books.
· Maintaining neat and orderly periodicals collections.
Qualifications & Experience:
Candidate must have WASC/GCE/SSCE with 5 credits including English Language.
I BURSARY
1. ACCOUNTANT II (CONUNASS 07)
Key Responsibilities:
· Computation of monthly salary.
· Preparation of monthly staff salary.
· Preparation, Printing and Collation and submission of monthly reports on salary prepared.
· Computation of salary for all category of staff.
· Confirmation of signed monthly nominal role of staff.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Must have a good honours degree/HND from a recognized institution in Accounting OR
· Holder of Professional Examination I (PE I) of the ICAN or ANAN or ACCA or ACMA
· Must have NYSC discharge Certificate.
2. ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE OFFICER – ACCOUNT (CONUNASS 05)
Key Responsibilities:
· Drafting/Writing of Memorandum.
· Receiving incoming mails.

Key Responsibilities:
· Driving with care and caution any motor vehicle assigned to him.
· Undertaking any minor maintenance and repairs of motor vehicles.
· Any other duties assigned by a superior officer.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Candidate must have the Class III Trade Test for Motor Mechanic Work and Professional
Driver’s License.

Key Responsibilities:
· Carrying out routine duties as may be assigned

Qualifications & Experience:
· Candidates must have WAEC/GCE/SSCE with Trade Test II and Trade Test III with six (6) years
practical experience
2. ARCHITECT II (CONUNASS 07)
Key Responsibilities:
· Reproducing building to softcopy i.e AutoCAD
· Attending to various site meeting of all projects
· Inspection and full engaged in Architect drawing and designs
· Carrying out detailing and specification writing for all building project.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Candidates must possess good honours degree in Architecture from a recognized
University which must be registrable with relevant professional body plus computer/
AutoCAD knowledge
· Must have NYSC discharge Certificate
3. QUANTITY SURVEYOR II (CONUNASS 07)
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare bill of quantities based on Architectural/Structural designs
· Prepares tender documents
· Undertake project management
· Prepares valuation report claims on projects
· Advise on variation
Qualifications & Experience:
· Candidates must possess good honours degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognized
university which must be registrable plus computer/ AutoCAD knowledge
· Must have NYSC discharge Certificate
L. ACADEMIC PLANNING UNIT
1. ACADEMIC PLANNING OFFICER II (CONUNASS 07)
Key Responsibilities:
· Undertake data and project analysis
· Collect and collate relevant data towards preparation for accreditation
· Analysis and interpretation of statistical data
Qualifications & Experience
Candidate must possess a good honours degree in any of the following: Mathematics,
Statistics, Economic, Business Administration. Computer Science, Educational Management
or related discipline
