The department of Community Health & Primary Health Care is at the forefront of training a new generation of health professionals through exposure to the principles and practice of public health. The department consists of both teaching and non-teaching staff. The academic staff comprises of experts in various sub specialties of public health and community medicine involved in the training of undergraduate medical, dental, nursing and physiology students and postgraduate students.

1.MB;BS: In-course and end-of-course assessments are held at 200, 500 and 600 levels, which provide continuous assessment scores. The examination in Community Health and Primary Health Care is part of the final (4th) Professional MB;BS degree
Examinations consist of multiple choice questions(MCQs), one answer objective questions, essay questions, Objective structured clinical examination (OSCE), Objective structured picture examination (OSPE) and orals/project defense.
2.BDS: In-course and end-of-course assessments are held at 200 and 500 levels, which provide continuous assessment scores. The examination in Community Health and Primary Health Care is part of the 4th Professional BDS degree examinations. Examinations consist of multiple choice questions (MCQs), one answer objective questions, essay questions, Objective structured picture examination (OSPE) and orals.
3.BNSc: In-course assessments, assignments and seminars provide continuous assessment. The end-of-course (semester) examinations consist of multiple choice questions (MCQs), one answer objective questions and essay questions.
4.BSc Physiology: In-course assessments, assignments and seminars provide continuous assessment. The End-of-Course (semester) examinations consist of essay questions.
Candidates are required to have made 75% attendance to be eligible to sit for the End-of-Course examinations.
