Dr Adaobi Solarin graduated from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in July 2000. She had her internsip at the EKO hospitals PLC and the National Youth Service Corp at the 68 Army Reference Hospital, Yaba. She later proceeded for her Paediatric fellowhip training at the Lagos State University Teaching Ikeja and became a fellow of the West African College of Physician in October 2010. She practiced briefly as a consultant Paediatrician in Ajeromi General Hospital and Reddington Multispecialist Hospital before proceeding to do a sub-specialty training in Paediatric Nephrology at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital, Cape Town South Africa. She also had a Master of Philosophy from University of Cape Town. Dr Adaobi Solarin has had trainings in Neonatal resuscitation, BLS, APLS/PALS, Peritoneal Dialysis, Haemodialysis. Other trainings include Daystar leadership Academy and Leadership in management and health with University of Washington, Emotional intelligence. She is currently a lecturer in the Department of Paediatrics & Child Health and honorary consultant with the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja. Dr Solarin is involved in training undergraduate and post graduate doctors, supervising their research works. Her keen interest in research has led to collaborative research within her department, with other researchers in other department in her institution and other institutions. She is currently the centre’s PI for NIH funded research work for Human Hereditary and Health in Africa Kidney Disease research network (H3Africa KDRN) and the Diet ,CKD and Apol 1(DCA) ancillary study.
