Dr. Ibironke Akinola had her basic medical and post-graduate training at the Olabisi Onabanjo University and Lagos State University Teaching Hospital respectively. She was trained in paediatric endocrinology at the Paediatric Endocrinology Training Centre for West Africa. She is involved in conducting research in sub-specialties of paediatric endocrinology including diabetes, thyroid disorders, overweight and obesity. She is the principal investigator in a project studying the maternal and neonatal insulin resistance profile; partly sponsored by the research and grant management office of the Lagos State University College of Medicine. She looks forward to participating in more collaborative studies involving other fields of Medicine.
