Academic Background, Trainings, Skills, Positions, Teaching, Achievements (in Summary).

I have been involved in undergraduate teaching of Paediatrics with an emphasis on perinatal/ neonatal care, immunology and infections. My clinical experience in residency continued after my appointment as a honorary consultant to the hospital where i run clinics and carry out perinatal/neonatal care. I have also been in charge of the perinatal part of the Lagos state program on maternal and child health the maternal perinatal death surveillance and review program (MPDSR) in the hospital since 2017. My involvement in training in perinatal/neonatal programs include the neonatal resuscitation program, (NRP) essential newborn care (ENCC). I have also had opportunities to attend conferences and trainings on neonatal care. My administrative experience which started as a chief resident has afforded me the opportunity to relieve previous heads of department before my present appointment as the head. My interest in research culminated in my dissertation in neonatology and subsequent the publication of several papers. I was involved in the clinical trial in the hospital in 2007 on the use of the conjugated pneumococcal vaccine (pneumovax(r)) which led to the publication of several papers in local and international journals .
